Christmas is coming...watch this space for the package. The day itself will hopefully be a community lunch and a day off for all our staff. tMS will host the event, supply the venue and refreshments, we will need volunteers for everything from transport, food preparation, service, entertainment and kindness. A great day for your kids too to give a little kindness and experience the tMS wisdom trail. Without the community support for the community our endeavours will be placed elsewhere, register your interest on line if you fancy it, we will make a call on it at the end of October

Kindness of the Week - goes to an anonymous Business man who had observed a young couple sharing a meal and making their cokes last an hour. He exchanged with them for awhile before leaving and asking the barman to serve them a bottle of Champagne after he had gone. We never enquired what was said but a great moment was shared. The squint and grimace on their faces from their virgin taste of Champagne told another story and best for our memory and not that of the kind businessman.

Hi!

Novelty factor faded for some but we're still here, 4 months on since we opened the bar on April Fools Day(just in case we never made it). Lots of learning, lots of mistakes. Thanks to those that have supported our growing process, with the nature and values of tMS we will always be making slips as we strive to innovate hospitality. Many days we forget and stray but the day we sit back and indulge in profit is the day tMS will close its doors. We are here to make a difference, locally if possible but we realise getting the trust of locals may take a few years.

Spelling and Grammar of Socfinder gets no better so if anybody fancy's a friendly editing duty, great its yours.

The 1022 Club will start with a pre-launch party, for registered guests. If interested membership is free for the rest of the year. Starting with a Friday night event, 30th July, an Afro-Salsa experience starting at 10pm finishing at 2am. Complimentary midnight snacks will be provided

Hopefully the menu's have had their final tweaks for a while, offering Tapas, bar style meals and a restaurant experience. Our dining feature table for 16 has developed into a fun and games table with pin-pong contests and blow football being a regular activity during dining.

Next Self-cook Red Alert night coming up 24th July, starters and sundowner cocktails around the fire pit. Raclette feasting, Waffle deserts and some fun. Thanks to all participants on Alert night 4. The improvised percussion from unbolted toilet seats and upturned waste bins may require a re-think though

Sockbus
Those of you that pass by every now and then may have noticed the presence of our wonderful old Double Decker Sockbus in the car park. From this legendary vehicle, fully kitted out with a bar and top-deck lounge, we’ll be serving up Mexican and soft drinks to the garden during weekends as soon as trade levels justify. Also available for special occasions and projects

Art
We’ve had a very nice man called Peter drop some art off for us, and it turns out he’s a very talented fellow indeed! His work is hanging in our lobby now, and looks a treat. But we’d like some more, so if you are an artist, or know a talent you can put forward, we’re looking for art that demonstrates humour, kindness/wisdom, an international theme – we’re open to suggestions so please get in touch! If you know of anybody wishing to display please pass our details on.

Music Day for Buskers and Jammers
We’re looking to develop expression sessions here at tMS, and welcome anybody that’s looking to demonstrate their talent or mix with like-minded individuals. We’ve talked about Sunday Jazz, evening jam sessions, poetry readings... it’s all good, and really appreciated here at The Missing Sock, so get in touch if this is something you dig! The first one is Sunday 1st August, thereafter each first Sunday of the month. Affordable drinks and tapas served all day.

It would be fantastic if we could host a singing club, the tMS vison of a bar full of harmonies and spontaneous percussion would be a step nearer to our vision

Salsa & African dance
This will be coming soon... and it’s all about participation, not perfection. Whatever your dance or physical ability we can all make it work for everyone.

Pirate playground and Parent park

Somewhere kids can serve the parents, read a comic whilst the parents challenge the wisdom trail or clamber the boat and assault course. Overlooked by upper deck of bussy where refreshment can be taken. Please note no glassware in this area for safety reasons. The playroom and bus will be available for party hire.

One last line, our venue is open to any registered charity as a meeting place Mon-Fri. This is free of charge and includes tea and coffee, but please book. Our motive.....karma!

'The Missing Sock' is a name that represents a very special brand offering unique hospitality, genuine care, friendship, fun and kindness. Every tMS (because we intend to have lots of them) is an interactive and unique venue, combining a dining room, coffee lounge, and great place to drink in its own distinctive way. It’s a finding place for people of all ages - whether single or in groups - seeking comfort, companionship, well-being and appreciation. And more to the point, there’s a whole host of hidden gems and entertainment that await your exploration... so what are you waiting for!? It will take time to realise the brand, your help will be appreciated and thereafter yours to share.

Our first tMS in Cambridge will become our HQ and flagship venue – offering alternative, healthy world food & drink, and a real passion to deliver the best quality it can, in as unique and fun an atmosphere as possible.

Beyond that, we aim to create an international network of friendship restaurants and expression zones, spreading tMS affection as far and wide as we can. Cape town we hope will make its 1st September laucnh date, all in the hands of of our inspirational Labsock Jo.

So take a minute to explore our Values & Mission, and have a good nose around the site. We are all very proud of what we’ve created so far, and we’re really excited about making a real and genuine difference. Its been a tiring ride for the Socks in refurbishing a grumpy building, now to make the books balance and deliver tMS.
